Tribute to Mick Halls
Mick attended Praiseway church in Straight Road, Colchester. It was soon after he moved into Baden Powell Drive he began talking to his neighbour Mrs. Diane Storey, she eventually invited him to our Munch Bunch coffee morning/Bible study meetings on a Tuesday, which then became his all-time favourite meeting. Soon after, he attended one of our Sunday evening services where, Mr. John Holden, the minister preached a Gospel message and asked if anyone needed to get right with the Lord, that Mick came forward (helped by Diane) to be prayed for. About 6 months later, a baptism service was planned to be on West Mersea beach, Mick asked if he could be baptised, we of course said yes. We have this wonderful memory of Mick in his shorts and t–shirt running into the sea to be baptised, we will never forget that. All in all Mick was a great supporter of the Munch Bunch Bible Study (and of course the cakes) enjoying the wonderful fellowship. Mick will be greatly missed but is now in the very presence of his Saviour and Lord.
